NAKO 12 Quarterly: Committee Discussed Reforms with NDSC Secretary Danylyuk
17 – 19 June 2019 NAKO’s 12th Quarterly Meeting took place in Kyiv. Traditionally, the Quarterly was joined by Transparency International Defence and Security Program: TI DS Director Steve Francis and TI DS Program Manager – Europe Karolina MacLachlan.

Together, they discussed the launch of the Parliamentary Pledge project, the Declaration in support of reforming the State Dedence Order (SDO) and the presentation of the preliminary results of NAKOs upcoming research publications. The reports include, in particular, ‘Reforming the System of the SDO’ and ‘Corruption Schemes at Ukroboronprom’. A number of meetings took place within the framework of the Committee’s quarterly assembly. NAKO members met with the newly appointed Secretary to the National Defence and Security Council, Olexander Danylyuk, and members of his team. The Committee shared with Mr Danylyuk its report on Reforming the System of the SDO. All the participants stressed the importance of cooperation with the aim of lowering the levels of defence corruption, whereas Danylyuk named the increased transparency of the SDO as the priority for the National Defence and Security Council.
